MANILA, Philippines – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced the 12 senatorial aspirants of the administration coalition for the 2025 elections on Thursday, September 26.
Marcos himself made the announcement at the Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas convention in Pasay City on Thursday, September 26.
The lineup is composed of five reelectionist senators, three former senators, two House lawmakers, one mayor, and one Cabinet official.
They are:
- Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos
- Makati Mayor Abby Binay
- Senator Pia Cayetano
- Former senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson
- Senator Lito Lapid
- Senator Imee Marcos
- Former senator Manny Pacquiao
- Senator Bong Revilla
- Former Senate president Vicente “Tito” Sotto III
- Senator Francis Tolentino
- ACT-CIS Representative Erwin Tulfo
- House Deputy Speaker Camille Villar
Among the administration bets, only the President’s sister, Imee, was absent. He said that his sister could not make it as she was busy “campaigning” elsewhere.
Imee is a staunch ally of the Dutertes. Vice President Sara Duterte is at odds with Speaker Martin Romualdez who heads one of the coalition members, Lakas-CMD. The Vice President had also earlier apologized to groups that she had urged to vote for Marcos in the 2022 presidential elections. (READ: Sara Duterte on Marcos: We are not friends)
