MANILA, Philippines – Beauty queen, actress, and mother Teresita “Winwyn” Marquez has been named Miss Universe Philippines Muntinlupa 2025.

According to a GMA News report, Marquez’s MUPH bid was announced during a media launch at EDSA Shangri-La in Mandaluyong City. Her good friend, Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee, was reported to be there to show support.

In a video posted by Pageanthology Philippines, Winwyn shared why she deserved to be the next Miss Universe queen, citing her “passion, competence, and unique experience” to inspire others.

“I am here to prove that dreams do not have an expiry date. I want my daughter to see me as someone who chased and never gave up on her dreams,” she said.

She admitted that it was a risk but that it’s scarier to live with the question, “What if?”

“I also want people to understand it is never too late to take a chance on yourself — I do not just represent the crown but the limitless potential as an individual,” she said.

The seasoned beauty queen, 33, previously won Reina Hispanoamericana 2017, becoming the first Filipina to bag the crown. She also competed in Binibining Pilipinas 2015, finishing as a Top 15 finalist and earning the Best National Costume, Miss Talent, and She’s So JAG awards.

She is vying to be the next Miss Universe Philippines 2025, in hopes of representing the country at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand, where reigning Miss Universe Victoria Kjær Theilvig will pass on the crown. – Rappler.com
